Apply to become a vendorWhy Ekotana
Ekotana connects shoppers with vendors who take sustainability seriously — from EU-based artisans practicing small-batch craftsmanship to internationally certified manufacturers meeting the same bar through independent certification. We curate every vendor, not just every product.
How it works
Tell us about your business and products. We review every application personally.
Once approved, you'll set up your vendor profile and connect a Stripe account to receive payouts.
List your products and start reaching Ekotana's shoppers.
Ekotana uses Stripe Connect. When a customer buys your product, Stripe processes the payment and transfers your share directly to your own connected Stripe account — Ekotana never holds your funds. You'll need a business or bank account in a country Stripe Connect supports.
Fees
Ekotana charges a commission on each completed sale. Because our vendors and categories vary widely, we agree on a commission rate individually with each vendor during the application process, rather than publishing one flat rate.
Ekotana Local & Ekotana Global
Every vendor belongs to one of two lines, based on where your business is registered — not on product quality.
EU-based vendors, individually curated by our team.
Internationally sourced vendors, verified through a recognized third-party certification (such as GOTS, OEKO-TEX, or FSC).
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to register for EU VAT myself?
If your business is registered outside the EU, no — under EU marketplace rules, Ekotana is responsible for collecting and remitting VAT on your sales to EU customers. EU-based vendors handle their own VAT as usual.
Which countries can join?
Any EU-based business can apply as an Ekotana Local vendor. Outside the EU, you'll need a business and bank account in a country Stripe Connect supports for payouts — this currently doesn't include mainland China, though it does include many other countries such as Hong Kong and Singapore.
What is an "EU responsible person"?
EU product safety law (GPSR) requires non-EU vendors to name a contact based in the EU who takes responsibility for product safety questions. We'll ask for this during onboarding if it applies to you.
How long does approval take?
We review every application personally, so it may take a few business days. We'll email you either way.
